I've completed my new home edit suite, kitted out with the best broadcast-quality equipment and all housed in a custom-made desk crafted for me by master carpenters in Cornwall.

The latest 27" 5K Retina iMac with 32GB RAM is accompanied by another Iiyama 27" monitor to give plenty of screen room.

The 21" Sony HD reference monitor, connected by HD-SDI for unsurpassed image quality, is attached to a Blackmagic UltraStudio 3D box via super fast Thunderbolt2.
I'm continuing to make major investments in my kit.

I've completely refurbished my home edit suite. The old CRT monitor has finally gone, and almost all the analogue equipment has been retired.

It has all been replaced with new, modern kit; a Sony LED HD monitor, connected via HD-SDI for the highest quality image, a 27" 5K Retina Apple iMac and a paired 27" Iiyama LED monitor to give plenty of space for the Avid Media Composer 8 software with Symphony option, Final Cut Pro 7 (or X if needed) and Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 edit systems, all linking into the Blackmagic Ultrastudio 3D in/out unit.

I have added two control services for ease of use and speed; the Avid Artist Mix sound mixer, and the Avid Artist Color grading system.

There are also new audio monitors - two M-Audio Studiophile active speakers.

All of this has been installed into a new custom-made desk in sapele wood with proper mains distribution.
I now offer 15TB of RAIDed superfast Pegasus2 storage to connect via Thunderbolt 2 to either my MacBook Pro with Retina display or my 27” 5K Retina iMac systems, coupled with a Blackmagic UltraStudio 3D which will connect to and from any SD or HD source - analogue, HDMI and SDI.

This means I can offer your production the chance to
skip the offline stage and cut the show, once, in full-res HD, saving time and improving quality. The built-in redundancy of the Pegasus storage also means the media is protected against drive failure whilst maintaining faster-than-HD speeds.
